How to store baked oatmeal bars
Proper storage is key to keeping your Baked Berry Banana Oatmeal Bars fresh and delicious for as long as possible. Follow these simple tips to ensure that your bars stay flavorful and enjoyable:
- Allow Bars to Cool Completely: Before storing your baked oatmeal bars, be sure to allow them to cool completely on a wire rack. This helps prevent condensation from forming inside the storage container, which can lead to soggy bars.
- Individual Wrapping: For added convenience and portion control, consider wrapping each bar individually in plastic wrap or parchment paper. This makes it easy to grab a single serving from the freezer. Personally I never do this, as I never have time for it , but if you feel like it go ahead!
- Freezer-Friendly Containers: Invest in freezer-friendly containers or resealable bags specifically designed for storing baked goods. Make sure the containers are airtight to prevent freezer burn and preserve freshness. These will quickly pay for themselves as you build up your freezer friendly stash of baby and toddler food!
- Label and Date: To keep track of when your bars were made and ensure freshness, be sure to label each container with the date they were baked. Use a permanent marker or freezer-safe labels for easy identification.
- Store in the Freezer: Baked oatmeal bars can be stored in the freezer for up to three months for optimal freshness. Place the wrapped or containerized bars in the freezer, making sure to arrange them in a single layer to prevent sticking together.
- Thawing Instructions: When you’re ready to enjoy a bar, simply remove it from the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can microwave the bar on a low setting for a quick thawing option.
With a freezer stocked full of these easy freezer baby food oatmeal bars, you’ll always have a healthy baby led weaning snack or meal ready for when hunger strikes!
