Stuffed Waffle Pops

The Easiest 10-Minute Toddler Breakfast

Stuffed waffle pops on sticks topped with sprinkles, served in a wooden toddler plate with sliced kiwi and peach.

Some mornings you have the energy to make everything from scratch, whisking batter and flipping pancakes like a short-order cook. And some mornings? You just want to be the chill, fun mom who hands your toddler something adorable on a stick and calls it a win. This recipe is for those mornings.

These stuffed waffle pops come together in about 10 minutes using a can of crescent rolls, a couple of easy fillings, and a mini waffle iron. Two flavors, one sheet of dough, zero stress. They’re warm, a little crispy on the outside, gooey in the middle, and — because everything tastes better on a stick — they get devoured every single time.

The best part? You probably already have most of this in your fridge and pantry right now. No special trip to the store, no ingredients you’ll use once and forget in the back of the cupboard. Just crescent rolls, peanut butter, Nutella, and a banana. That’s the whole magic.

If you’ve been following along here at The Lonely Mothers Club, you know I’m all about recipes that make busy mornings easier without making your kids feel like they’re eating “easy” food. These waffle pops hit that sweet spot perfectly. They look like you put in real effort (great for those “fun mom” points), but they’re genuinely one of the simplest things you can make.

Why You'll Love These Stuffed Waffle Pops

  • They’re fast. From dough to plate in about 10 minutes, which is roughly the same amount of time your toddler will spend deciding whether they actually want to wear pants today.
  • No mixing bowls, no batter. Crescent roll dough does all the heavy lifting, which means fewer dishes and less cleanup for you.
  • Two fillings, endless wins. Peanut butter and jam for the classic crowd, Nutella and banana for the little chocolate lovers. Everyone at the table gets a favorite.
  • Toddler-approved handles. The popsicle stick turns breakfast into something playful and makes them easy for little hands to grab and hold.
  • Naturally portion-sized. Each pop is a perfect toddler-sized serving, so there’s no cutting up a giant waffle into safe little pieces.
  • Make-ahead friendly. Perfect for busy weekday mornings, weekend treats, playdate snacks, or even a fun addition to a kids’ brunch spread.

Why Waffle Pops Work So Well for Toddlers

If you’ve got a picky eater (and honestly, who among us doesn’t), there’s real magic in food that’s fun to hold. Toddlers are far more likely to actually eat something when it feels like a treat and comes with a built-in handle. The stick gives them independence, the two flavors give them choice, and the crispy-gooey texture keeps them interested.

There’s also a practical win here for you as the parent: because these are individually portioned and sturdy once cooled, they travel beautifully. Toss a couple in a container and you’ve got a grab-and-go breakfast for daycare drop-off, a car ride, or the stroller on your morning walk. No fork, no plate, no mess strapped into the car seat.

And let’s be honest — the “wow” factor matters. When you set down a plate of waffles on sticks with a little drizzle of syrup and a scatter of sprinkles, you become the fun mom. That reaction is worth the ten minutes every single time.

How to Make Stuffed Waffle Pops

Here’s everything you need to make 8 stuffed waffle pops (4 of each flavor).

Base:

  • 1 pack of crescent rolls
  • 8 popsicle sticks

Peanut Butter & Jam Filling:

  • Peanut butter
  • Jam or jelly of your choice
  • A couple of strawberries, sliced

Nutella & Banana Filling:

  • Nutella
  • About half a banana, sliced

Optional (for that extra wow factor):

  • Maple syrup, for brushing
  • Sprinkles

A quick note on ingredients: use whatever peanut butter and jam you already have on hand — creamy or crunchy, strawberry or grape, it all works. If you’re serving a little one with a nut allergy, sunflower seed butter or a nut-free chocolate spread swaps in beautifully without changing the method at all.

How to Make Stuffed Waffle Pops

1. Prep your dough. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it along the perforations into individual triangles. Set them out on a clean surface so you have a little assembly line going.

2. Fill the peanut butter waffles. Take half of your triangles and spread each one with a layer of peanut butter. Add a little jam and 2 slices of strawberry on top of each. Roll each triangle up, tucking the edges in as you go so the filling stays sealed inside and the dough forms a little ball. Insert a popsicle stick into the middle of each one.

3. Fill the Nutella waffles. With the other half of your triangles, spread each with Nutella and top with 2 slices of banana. Roll them up the same way — crescent-roll style, tucking the edges in to form a ball — then insert a popsicle stick into the center.

4. Heat your waffle iron. Preheat your waffle maker. A mini waffle iron is ideal for these because it gives you that perfect single-serving size and helps the pops hold their round shape.

5. Cook until golden. Place one stuffed waffle ball into the iron, press down gently, close the lid, and cook until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Carefully remove and repeat until all of your waffle pops are cooked.

6. Add the wow factor (optional). Brush the warm waffles with a little maple syrup and shower them with sprinkles. This is the part toddlers go absolutely wild for, and it takes all of five seconds.

An Important Tip Before You Serve

These waffle pops will be a little soft right when they come out of the waffle maker, so lift them out gently with a spatula rather than yanking on the stick. Let them cool for a minute or two — as they cool, they firm up and become sturdy enough to safely pick up and eat by the stick. This little rest also means they won’t be piping hot when they reach your toddler’s hands, which is always a win.

Make-Ahead & Storage Tips

One of the reasons I love these for busy weeks is how well they keep.

  • Refrigerator: Store cooled waffle pops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or air fryer for a couple of minutes to bring back the crisp.
  • Freezer: These freeze beautifully. Lay the cooled pops on a baking sheet to freeze individually, then transfer to a freezer bag. They’ll keep for up to 2 months. Reheat straight from frozen in the toaster oven or air fryer.
  • Meal prep: Make a big batch on Sunday and you’ve got fun breakfasts ready to go all week long.

Fun Filling Variations to Try Next

Once you’ve got the basic method down, the flavor combinations are truly endless. Here are a few of our favorites to keep breakfast exciting:

  • Cream cheese & berries — a lighter, tangy option
  • Cinnamon sugar & apple — tastes like a warm apple pie
  • Ham & cheese — a savory twist for a heartier breakfast
  • Marshmallow & chocolate chips — for a s’mores-inspired treat
  • Cheese & a little marinara — mini pizza waffle pops for lunch or a snack

Mix and match based on what your kids love and what you have on hand. That flexibility is exactly what makes this recipe a keeper.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these without a waffle iron? The waffle iron is what gives these their signature crispy, sturdy shape, but in a pinch you could bake the stuffed dough balls in the oven at 375°F until golden. They won’t have the waffle texture, but they’ll still be delicious little stuffed rolls on a stick.

What kind of waffle maker works best? A mini waffle iron is perfect for these — it gives you the ideal single-serving size and helps the pops keep their round shape. A standard waffle maker works too; you just may fit more per batch.

Are these safe for young toddlers? Always supervise little ones with popsicle sticks, and let the pops cool fully so they’re sturdy. For younger toddlers, you can always slide the pop off the stick and let them eat it in pieces.

Can I use homemade crescent dough? Absolutely. Store-bought is the shortcut that makes this a 10-minute recipe, but homemade or refrigerated pizza dough works if that’s what you have.

The Chill, Fun-Mom Breakfast You’ll Come Back To

Not every morning has to be a from-scratch production. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself and your kids is keep it simple, keep it fun, and enjoy those few minutes of “fun mom” glory. These stuffed waffle pops let you do exactly that: minimal effort, maximum delight, and a happy toddler with something adorable in their hand.
