Description
The easiest 10-minute toddler lunch or dinner! Crescent roll dough stuffed with string cheese, pizza sauce, and pepperoni, cooked in a waffle iron. Fun, quick, and totally toddler-approved.
Ingredients
- 1 can crescent dough
- 4 sticks string cheese, each cut in half
- Pizza sauce or marinara
- 16 pepperoni slices
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- Spread a little pizza sauce onto each triangle.
- Add half a string cheese stick, 2 pepperoni slices, and a little fresh basil (if using) to each.
- Roll up, tucking the edges in to form a ball so the cheese stays sealed inside.
- Preheat your waffle iron (a mini one works best).
- Place one stuffed ball into the iron, press down, close, and cook until golden brown and crispy with the cheese melted inside. Repeat with the rest.
Notes
These will be soft and very hot right out of the waffle maker, so lift them out gently with a spatula and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving. They’ll firm up as they cool and be sturdy enough for little hands. Always supervise toddlers while eating.
