Description
Easy no-bake Dipped Oreo Monster Cookies made with just Oreos and candy melts. Dip, decorate, and turn plain cookies into pumpkins, mummies, one-eyed monsters, and Frankensteins. No sticks required, perfect for kids, parties, and Halloween platters.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Oreo cookies (regular or Double Stuf)
- 12 oz candy melts (orange, purple, green, white, and black)
- Candy eyes, various sizes
- Halloween sprinkles and nonpareils
- Black fondant (optional, for pumpkin faces)
- 1 to 2 tsp coconut oil or shortening (optional, to thin candy melts)
Equipment
- Microwave-safe bowls
- Fork (for dipping)
- Parchment paper
- Halloween pumpkin face fondant stamps (optional)
Instructions
- Melt each color of candy melts in its own microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth. Stir in a little coconut oil if too thick.
- Drop an Oreo into the melted candy and use a fork to flip it until fully coated. Lift it out on the fork, tap against the edge of the bowl, and let the excess drip off. Set on a parchment-lined tray.
- Decorate immediately while the coating is wet. Add candy eyes, sprinkles, and fondant faces before the candy sets.
- Let the cookies sit until the coating is completely firm, about 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. Chill briefly to speed it up.
Notes
- Regular Oreos work great since there’s no stick to hold, but Double Stuf work too.
- Overheating is the main cause of thick, clumpy candy melts. Melt slowly and keep everything dry.
- For pumpkin faces, stamp shapes from black fondant and press on while the coating is still wet.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, with parchment between layers.
